Hipstamatic 170 Press Release!

In just a few short hours (8 AM PST) the new Hipstamatic 170 iPhone app launches! The 170 is special because it is the first iPhone photo app to print and deliver fine art traditional silver prints to your doorstep right from within the app!
It has been super cool being involved in making this all come to life, I can’t wait to see the prints coming through the lab tomorrow!
Here is an official press release:

Holy craaaaap!

I found this beautiful f/2.8 70-200mm Canon lens (including warranty card!) on my doorstep this morning with a note: “Anonymous gift for Lawler. Enjoy”

Wow, I’m speechless! Thank you fairy godmother!

My little part of the delicious Hipstamatic pie!

This Friday my favorite iPhone app is receiving a shiny new update! The new version – the Hipstamatic 170 – adds the ability to order prints right from within the app! How cool is that!
It gets better too :) I teamed up with the lab doing the actual printing (Color Services in Santa Barbara) and wrote the software for them that gently takes your Hipstamatic prints and moves them around the lab, through the printer and out the door to your home (or Grandma’s.)

Holga photo in The Daily book of Photography.

One of my 35mm Holga images of the Santa Barbara Mission appears in The Daily Book of Photography that was released this month. It is a cool hard cover book, I have enjoyed thumbing thru it the past few evenings…

Chris Orwig used my photos!

I am stoked and honored that inspiring photographer and speaker, Chris Orwig, interviewed me for his recently published book, Visual Poetry.
In addition to the interview, he also included several photos of my beautiful kids that I have taken over the past couple of years.
