the moon was at 99% full the other night.
i was feeling sick but managed to take this shot before shooting tigers and going to bed :)
chris orwig schooled me in the ways of photoshop and the image you see is the result...
you can see my original moon shot here and dowload the layered photoshop file here if you too wish to be schooled :)

  • I can't believe you were able to take this picture without some sort of telescope! Amazing!

  • I spent some time looking at all exif datas. Did you make a correction of the exposure? Anyway, the result is quite impressive!

  • Holly cow, that's close! Great shot. Oh and love that you've shared your PSD for schooling purposes. Consider me shooled. I hadn't gotten to trying the two "screen" layers in order to brighten up the lighter surface of the moon. Thanks for sharing this! And hope you're feeling better.

  • This may be a little strange, but I googled my name, and found another Kelly Orwig, and lo and behold, a Chris Orwig as well. If either of you would like to figure where we are with respect to each other on the family tree, feel free to e-mail me. So you don't think I'm completely bizarre, or maybe it will make you think I'm bizarre, Gottfried Orwig is the branch from which I sprung...
