today i went hunting very close to my home with this goshawk and its owner, dave.
the goshawk perched on top of utility poles and waited for bunnies or ducks to be flushed by dave and i.
after 2 hours or so, it was able to close the deal and tag a bunny as it crossed the service road (click the geo map link below for location)

  • Great DOF! The bird really looks extremely concentrated. Reminds me of a professional killer in an action movie. Then again, when I see such things as the blood on the beak and front I always know that hunting won't be one of my favorite activities.

  • Wow, I checked out those other photos you posted - nuts! I hadn't realized from your comment what it was you were doing! I can't believe this kind out hunting is actually going on, wow! Curious, did the hawk get any of the bunny?
    Daniel Seguin @ 05:38am April 01, 2006
  • dan, the hawk gets to eat its full of bunny, you have to leave what is not eaten in the field.
