The photo suggests a serious accident in the Santa Barbara area. So I googled "serious accidents" and learned of the tragic death of a barber in the area. Obviously it was Simon's barber! Perhaps the missing spectacles cause serious headaches for Simon, so that getting a haircut from a new barber would be too painful!!

Very cool shot, great lighting and awesome expression. I'm not sure what the whole "haircut" comment was about, maybe his mom wrote that?
